Spring Pictures

Spring Pictures will be on February 9th. In past years, every child had a picture taken at Spring Pictures, and a packet was sent home that you could purchase. This will change this year. Only students who have prepaid with an order form will have their picture taken. If you want your child’s picture taken, make sure to send the order form and payment in that day.

Class pictures for the yearbook will also be taken on this day.

Recess Procedures

We provide appropriate activities on these days. If the outside temperature is above 20 degrees and all other conditions are normal (wind, rain, snow,) students are sent outside for activities. Students must be prepared with coats, gloves, hats, etc. Please make sure names are labeled on these items. Students with notes from home indicating the need to stay inside will be provided a place to do so.

Air quality is also a concern, so the office does monitor the air quality on a daily basis. We follow the guidelines provided to us by the Utah Department of Health.

Welcome from the New Principal

Welcome back, Eagles! I am excited to be the new principal at Art City this year. I can already tell great things will be happening.

Thank You

A big thank you to all of our PTA and parent volunteers. We couldn’t do what we do without you!

Please make sure to record all of your volunteer hours on the sheet in the front office. This is important information that the PTA reports to the State. This includes time spent in classrooms, helping outside the classroom, babysitting for someone else who is volunteering in a classroom, and work spent as part of a PTA committee.

Reflections

It’s time for Reflections! The theme for the 2010-2011 reflections contest is “Together we can . . . .” The general rules are: (1) Each entry must be your child's original creation. (2) Interpretation of the theme is more important than technique! (3) Each entry must follow rules of size & content for its arts area. (4) Each student can submit one entry per category.

Students can pick up entry forms and category rules in the front office, or you can find them online at http://www.utahpta.org/prog/reflections/

Please be sure that all rules are followed and that the forms are filled out completely; failure to do so could result in the student’s entry being disqualified, and we would hate to see anyone’s hard work turned away because of an oversight.

Entries will be due October 1st.
